Lawrence D. Golder was born in Hubbard Lake on March 7, 1931 to the late Rudolph Golder and Augusta (Bartz) Golder. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict until his honorable discharge in 1954.
He married Dorothy Lobert on June 29, 1952. Mr. Golder worked at Abitibi as an electrician until his retirement in 1992. Larry was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church, volunteer for the Hubbard Lake Fire Department and a member of VFW Spruce Post 6754.
Surviving were his wife Dorothy Golder; 6 children, Wayne and Diane Golder of Ossineke, Daryl and Barb Golder of Hubbard Lake, Paul and Roxanne Golder of Hubbard Lake, Cris Golder of South Carolina, Brian Golder of South Carolina, Cari and Buster Peters of Grayling; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Erma Passage of Troy; sister in law Bertha Golder of Hubbard Lake; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Golder was preceded in death by: an infant daughter, Delyn; a daughter, Sue Ann Golder; granddaughter, Jennifer Miller; 3 brothers, Erwin, Edmund, Adolph and a sister, Wilhelmina Christy.
