Elaine Weaver Williams, age 82, widow of Chief Petty Officer James Elliott Williams, died Monday, December 31st in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at Central Baptist Church, at 11:00AM on Saturday, January 5th with burial following at Florence National Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior (10:00 – 11:00) to the service at the church.

Born in Darlington on November 8, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Henry Grady Weaver, Sr. and the late Maggie Jane McElveen Weaver. Elaine was a graduate of St. John's High School and devoted her time to being a loving wife and mother. She was very active in the community when her health allowed. Mrs. Williams enjoyed singing and was a member of the "Old Time Band". She was a member of Central Baptist Church.

Surviving are her children: Debbie Williams Clark of Daytona Beach, FL, James Elliott (Linda) Williams, Jr. of Darlington, Steven Michael (Patti) Williams of Dorchester, Charles Edward (Kathy) Williams of Monroe, NC; two daughters: Gail (Larry) Patterson of Florence, seven grandchildren: Sarah, Elizabeth, Brittain, Danielle, Sindy and Stephanie Williams, a number of great-grandchildren; sisters, Sullie Lane and Christine (Ed) Hursey and a brother, Cecil (Patsy) Weaver.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Marshal Patterson.
