Napoleon Hall was a son of Dr. Josephus Wells Hall and Henrietta (nee Stockton) Hall. He died before the 1850 census, probably in 1849 when his mother and sister Josephine died.

Napoleon Hall is buried with his sister, Josephine, and their mother, Henrietta, at Bellefontaine Cemetery.

Dr. Josephus Wells Hall is shown living at 134 Market Steet in the 1840-1841 City Directory of Saint Louis, Missouri.
