Born in Brooklyn, NY on May 3, 1922 and passed away peacefully at home on July 20, 2011. Hal graduated from Fordham, Columbia and Princeton Universities having earned Masters Degrees in Education and Physics. He pursued a career in education followed by work as an Insurance Underwriter until his retirement. Hal was preceded in death by his mother, Matilda, father, Harry, brothers Vincent and Joseph, two sisters, Madeleine and Claire. Hal is survived by his partner of 41 years, Mr. Dick Nicholls, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Hal's life will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at St. James Church in Petaluma at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Memorial Hospice of Santa Rosa, 821 Mendocino Ave., Santa Rosa, CA 95401 or to a charity of your choice. .Published in the Press Democrat from August 24 to August 25, 2011
