Carol was born and raised in White Plains, NY, an only child. She graduated from the Westchester School of Nursing in NY, and worked as a nurse in a doctor's office. She met her husband Reginald Heber Jr. b-1908 White Plains, and they married in 1945 in Florida where Reg was stationed in the service. They moved from White Plains to San Francisco CA area, then purchased their home in Palo Alto, CA in 1952 where they resided for many years with three daughters. The family attended the Congregational Church in Palo Alto. Both Reg and Carol were great gardeners tending their ½ acre lot with a fruit orchard and beautiful flowers. Both were active bridge players. Carol played the piano, cello and recorder and their girls remember Christmas parties with the neighbors singing carols around the piano. Reg and Carol both had kind and generous spirits. They opened their home to AFS Exchange students from New Zealand, Japan, and Ecuador. Carol ran an antique business for years with booths in various antique malls.

Carol's parents William Henry Jahne b-1891 NY, and Helen May Binley b-1897 NY, moved from White Plains, NY to Palo Alto near to their daughter. After Carol's mother died, her father Married Helena. When Helena passed away he lived with the Heber family for a while before his death. After retiring as Insurance Claims Adjuster in SF, Reg moved with Carol to a condominium in nearby Mt. View, CA. Reg then worked as a travel agent. He and Carol loved to travel and they took many trips over the years. Reginald died in the Mt. View Condo in 2004 with his wife and daughters and grandchildren by his side. Soon after, Carol moved to an assisted living facility, in Los Altos, CA where she later died with her daughters by her side. Carol's paternal grandparents are William Henry Jahne b-1857 NY, and Mary Ann Row Squires b-1859 NY. Her maternal grandparents are Henry Binley b-1857 of Leicester England and Mary Young b-1855 probably in Ireland. Carol is remembered with much love. She was kind and generous and had a great sense of humor.
