The Trenton Evening Times* reported that "Sergeant John F. Longevin....[was] called into service February 5, 1943.... ...landed with the invasion forces on the Marshall Islands and later returned to Oahu. Then they took part in the Saipan invasion and were again sent back to Oahu.... [he] holds the Asiatic-Pacific ribbon, with two bronze stars and also the Good Conduct ribbon."
