Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Shipp Knopp, 50 years of age, were held Friday morning from the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. D.L. Druien in charge. Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery at Finley. Mrs. Knopp’s sudden death came as a shock to her family and friends Wednesday afternoon [June 19, 1946] following a stroke. She had been in seemingly good health and was in Campbellsville Monday. She was a native of the county, daughter of the late Sam Shipp and Mrs. Annie Shipp, who survives. She professed faith early in life and joined the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Joe Knopp and 7 children: Marion Knopp, Louisville, Mrs. Howard White, Mrs. Walter Yates, Mrs. Willard Morgan, Edwin, Edith & Francis Knopp, all of the county. She also leaves 2 brothers, Goebel Shipp, Louisville, and Curtis Shipp, Morristown, IN, and 7 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Ira England, Lloyd Mann, Hershel St. Clair, James England, Burton Philpott and Ed Yates. Flower bearers were Mrs. Lloyd Mann, Mrs. Burton Philpott, Mrs. Bettie Feather, Mrs. Hershel St. Clair, Mrs. Ira England and Mrs. Ida Brown.
