GREAT BEND - Jane Etta Akings, 84, died June 28, 2011. She was born Aug. 9, 1926, to John Oliver and Julia Ava Anthony.

She married Landon Fletcher Akings July 29, 1944. He preceded her in death. Survivors: son, Dean (Lillian); daughters, Shirley Foust (Larry), Diane Aelmore (Larry), and Betty Quinn; brother, John Anthony; sister, Colene Mallams; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service and interment 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, in Oaklawn Memorial Garden Cemetery, Olathe. Memorials to the Heart Association in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Olathe.
