Rev. Edward Maul
The Rev. Edward Robert Maul, 63, retired pastor of Immanuel United Church of Christ, East St. Louis, died Thursday at his home in Fairview Heights. The Rev. Mr. Maul assumed the Immanuel Church pastorate in February, 1950, and retired last Oct. 1. He had previously held pastorates in Kansas and Missouri. Surviving are his widow, the former Marie Hauke; two daughters, Miss Janice Kay Maul, Oakland, Calif.; and Mrs. James K. Ringle III, Jacksonville, Ill.; four sisters, Mrs. Elsie Cooney, Miss. Frances Maul, and Mrs. Roland Solomon, all of St. Louis; and Mrs. Florence Adams, Chatham, Ill.,; a brother, Robert E. Maul, Lansing, Mich.; and two grandchildren. The Rev. Mr. Maul served on the boards of Eden Seminary, St. Louis, Illinois South Conference of United Church of Christ, Inter-City Mission, St. Louis; and Kinder Cottage, East St. Louis. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Immanuel Church. Private interment rites will be held Monday at Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 2 to 9 p.m. The Kurras Funeral Home, Belleville, has charge. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Memorials may be made at the Eden Seminary or the Albert Schweitzer Foundation.
