Chairman of the pharmaceutical firm Wybert. FDP city councilman in Lörrach and vice-president of the board of trustees of the Theodor-Heuss Foundation, which he helped to found. Only child of Theodor Heuss and Elly Heuss Knapp, during the Hitler years, he actively resisted National Socialism.
