She was born on February 28, 1921 in Wichita Falls, TX to Charles and Mary Rauschuber.
She was the oldest of 12 children.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Hubert, daughter Janice, brothers: Leonard, Walter, Martin, Hugo, and Pete Rauschuber, and sister: Dorothy McEachern.
Her love for family and flower gardens were her passions. She was an avid Spurs fan and enjoyed sewing and playing dominoes. She was a member of Highland Social Club and Martinez Social Club where she enjoyed bowling with Hubert and many friends. They also participated in prize bowling at 9 pin bowling clubs in Texas. On Saturday nights you could find Katherine and Hubert at Martinez Social Club dancing or playing cards with friends at home.
She is survived by her daughter Kathy Volkmann, grandson and wife Dustin and Christina Volkmann, great grandchildren Katelyn and Zachary, brothers: Gilbert and Charles Rauschuber, sisters: Mildred Jupe, Elma Kerlick, Rosie Dear, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A special thanks to Rosedale Place for all their care and support while Katherine was a resident there.
Visitation will begin on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. with rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. at Dellcrest Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Jerome Cemetery.
