On Sunday, December 20, 2015, Mary Ann Vaultin Ide passed away at her home. Mary was born at home, in Craighead County Arkansas, on December 9, 1944, to the late Willard and Tular Pruitt. Mary grew up in Piedmont, Mo. and graduated from Clearwater High School in 1964. While in high school, Mary sang in a gospel quartet and recorded music for the General Baptist Hour on a local radio station.

After high school, Mary relocated to St. Louis, worked at Forum Cafeteria, and joined a trophy-winning bowling team. Late in 1964, Mary moved to Jackson, Michigan, where she worked at a garment factory until the doors closed in 1966. She became a nurse assistant at Foote Hospital and worked there for eleven years. In 1967 she married William Raliegh Petty who passed away in 1970. She married Gerald L. Ide in 1976. In 1980, Mary moved to Poplar Bluff, Mo. and married Burt L. Ide who passed away in 1986.

Mary worked at the Assembly of God Nursing Home (now Whispering Oakes) and retired from Mark Twain Caring Center after forty-four years as a CNA.

Survivors include three children: Roger Petty, Geraldine Hadley, and Ronald Ide; three grandchildren: David, Phillip and Kenneth Hadley; three sisters: Judy Johnson, Tressie Kirby and Jennie Deakins; two brothers: Tommy and John Pruitt; several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands; William Petty and Burt Ide, a brother-in-law, James Johnson; a step son, Michael Petty, and a son-in-law William J. Hadley.

Family requests donations be made to UCAN 1899 N. Westwood Suite C #172 Poplar Bluff, Mo 63901 or the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be 5-7pm Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The funeral will be at 10:30am Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
