Predeceased by son David, husband Charles, sisters Evelyn Parks and Jenny Mayea. Survived by son Charles (Eleanor); four grandchildren Brenda (Robert) Roberts, Gail Jordan, Brett (Karen) Jordan and Duane (Sherie) Jordan; seven great-grandchildren Robert, Tania and Sean Roberts, Brianna Jordan, Kyle Jordan, Marcus and Naomi Jordan; sister Elsie (Gordon) Braithwaite, brother Leslie Lloyd; sister-in-law Lucy Smirl and god-daughters Lynda Hasanen and Wendy Overbaugher; plus many nieces and nephews and other relatives in England.
Dorothy’s favorite time in her younger years was when she stayed with the Lord and Lady Knight at Hampton Court and the many hours she spent along the River Thames. Her passions in life were working in her gardens, fishing, baking and spending time with her family. She was always ready and well known by family, friends and neighbours for a good cup of tea and goodies. Of her many accomplishments, she was most proud of the years she spent first canvassing and then managing the local Cancer Society Office. A special thank you to Dr. Grimes, the nurses on two south at CDH, and the Cowichan Home Support Workers for their professional and compassionate care. Also to Marion Johnston for her care and assistance over the past few months with mom. Funeral Services will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel, 187 Trunk Road, Duncan, BC on October 8, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: St. Peter’s Cemetery Fund 5800 Church Road, Duncan, BC V9L 5M3.
