In 1869 Agnes Balster Frohle a widow also from Oldenburg immigrated to America to become the housekeeper for Clem and his two children. Agnes brought along her 10 year old daughter Mary Bernadina. In the 1870 census Agnes Frohle was listed as Housekeeper. Clems’ occupation was shown as Woolen Manufacturer.
On the 17th of August 1871 Agnes and Clem were married. They lived in New Vienna, IA where their daughter Mary Anna was born on June 7, 1872. Son Clemens was born on February 8, 1876. William was not listed as a part of their family in the 1880 census. In 1876 they moved to Wheatland Township, Carroll County Iowa and began farming and where they raised their family and where they lived the rest of their lives.
Clem died in 1896 and is buried at St. Bernard Cemetery in Breda, IA. The name on his grave monument is B C Wente.
