Walter E. Seymour, 56, of 1323 North Second street, a resident of Springfield for the last thirty years, died at 7:25 p.m., Feb. 18, 1936, at the residence.
Mr. Seymour served in company I, Fifth Illinois infantry, during the Spanish-American war.
He was a carpenter by trade, holding membership in the carpenters' union for thirty-one years.
He also was a member of I.O.O.F. lodge No. 6.
Death followed a week's illness.
Survivors are his wife, Grace Gibson Seymour; one sister, Mrs. Harry Yeck of Concord; two brothers, Al of Springfield; and George, of Jacksonville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the residence.
Interment was in Roselawn Cemetery.
