Betty Vint, 84, of 122 West Main Street, Marshalltown, died Friday, November 3rd, at her home while in care of hospice and her loving family. Her death came peacefully at 11:32 a.m. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 6th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Rev. Kiboko I. Kiboko of the Laurel United Methodist Church officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Oakland Cemetery at Beaman. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 2-4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Born Betty Seim on November 22nd, 1921, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Knudt and Dorothy (Kersey) Seim. She graduated from the Marshalltown High School's Class of 1939. On June 12th, 1940, she was united in marriage to Howard Vint in Marshalltown. They made their home in Marshalltown where she was employed at Curt's Royal Blue, Little Jennie's on South Center Street, Crew Lanes and Gramma's Place Craft Store. She enjoyed being a Cub Scout, Brownie and 4-H leader and was a member of the bowling association. Left to mourn her loss are her six children: Larry (Vicky) Vint of Dekalb, IL., Bill (Lisa) Vint of East Troy, Wisconsin, Mary "Sam" (Jim) Halter of Rhodes, Tom (Georgiann) Vint of Omaha, NE., Judi (Pat) Himes of Marshalltown and Jon (Beth) Vint of Springfield, MO., 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, her brothers Richard (Alene) Seim of Ames and Alan (Ruth) Seim of Ottumwa as well as nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In death she has rejoined her husband who died in 1977, her parents Knudt and Dorothy Seim, her in-laws Emil and Grace Vint, brothers Darrel and Gerald Seim, sister Nancy Cutler, grandson Chad Vint, daughter-in-law Joan Vint, great-grandson Ethan Rempfer and sister-in-law Elizabeth Boss.
