Father Rogers, Early Rector, Dies in East.

"The Rev. Canon B. Talbot Rogers, D.D., L.L.D., former rector of St. James church in this city and warden of Grafton Hall, Fond du Lac, for 23 years, died Friday at Hamburg, N.Y. More than a year ago Father Rogers, who also served as Archdeacon of the Fond du Lac Diocese of the Episcopal Church, was obliged to give up parochial work at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York because of ill health.
The body will arrive in Fond du Lac Sunday noon and services will be held at 2:30 p.m. from the St. Paul Cathedral.
Dr. Rogers was born at Rockland, Mich., in 1865 and graduated from Lawrence College in 1886. He received his M.A. degree in 1889 and the degree of Doctor of Divinity at Nashotah House in 1900. He was married to Nellie Lum Mead at Waterloo.
Dr. Rogers was appointed rector of the St. James parish in this city in 1889. He served here until 1893 when he was summoned to Fond du Lac by Bishop Grafton to take over the direction of Grafton Hall. He served throughout the period of the greatest development of that institution.
In 1916 Dr. Rogers left Fond du Lac for Racine when he served three years as head of Racine College. Completing that service he went to New York where he was identified with the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.
Dr. Rogers leaves a daughter, Mrs. Stanford Barrett of Los Angeles, Calif., two sons, Henry Mead Rogers of Hamburg, N.Y., and Benjamin Talbot Rogers of Buffalo, N.Y.; a brother George of New York City and four sister."

Rev. B. T. Rogers of St John's Dies

"The Rev. Dr. B. Talbot Rogers, 69, Bishop's Chaplain at the Cathedral of St. john the Divine, historiographer and assistant minister of Trinity Church, Manhattan, died yesterday at the home of his son, Henry M. Rogers, in Hamburg, N.Y.
Dr. Rogers was a brother of Mrs. Ogden Mills Reid, vice-president of the New York Tribune, Inc., which publishes the Herald-Tribune.
He had played a prominent part in the affairs of the Protestant Episcopal Church for more than 30 years and on nine occasions was a deputy to the General Convention of the church. In 1927 he was a delegate to the World Conference on Faith and Order at Lausanne, Switzerland.
He leaves three children, a brother and four sisters."
