Brother of Anna Gertrud,Josef Heinrich,Heinrich Karl,Klara Paula,Wilhelm, Margaretha Agnes, Mathilde Maria,Ewald Antonius,Paul Josef,Franz Hermann, Maria Antonia, Antonia Anna.

"In civilian live Berhard worked at the "Deutsche Reichsbahn".
He started his military career at the Schwere-Flak-Ersatz-Abteilung 11 in Königsberg.
Due to the acute shortage of Infantrymen were more and more Soldiers trained to be Infanterist, among them Bernhard.
He joined the new Fallschirmjager-Battalion 21 Löytved-Hardegg.
By the end of September 1944 this battalion was send to the woods north of Overloon.
On Sept. 30th different Task Forces from the US 7th Armored division started a heavy artillery barrage on Overloon. It's pressumed that Bernhard was one of the victims..."

"His family received the official message of his death on 04/04/1962....
Bernhard was the second out of 13 children.
Two of his younger brothers were also KIA.
