Born two weeks before the Great Storm of 1900, Mrs. Harris was raised with her three sisters in a fine Victorian house in Galveston. She married noted Austin architect August Watkins Harris, and they became parents of two sons and two daughters. Mrs. Harris lived for many decades in a handsome house designed by her husband on Niles Road in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Austin. Intelligent and gracious, she lived to her 93rd year.
