Stockton Daily Evening Mail, 10 Feb 1908 Mon, p8c1 MISS LAURA GERLACH Died Saturday Evening After a Short Attack of Pneumonia Death has summoned Miss Laura Gerlach, daughter of Mr and Mrs Louis Gerlach and one of Stockton's fie young women. Miss Gerlach passes away Saturday night at 8:15 o'clock at the home of her parents, No 231 East Flora street. The young woman was taken down a week ago Saturday with a severe cold which soon turned into pneumonia. Physicians were summoned and everything possible was done to relieve the sufferer. She rallied for a few minutes Saturday afternoon but soon grew worse, and it was seen that there was no hope for her recovery. The deceased was born and reared in this city. She was a graduate of Mills Seminary and was quite a literary woman. she kept up with the times, being a great reader, and had an intimate knowledge of the best works of the noted authors. Miss Gerlach had visited Europe and had made a trip to Mexico. In fact, the deceased was the most accomplished woman of very pleasant disposition. Her high character and entertaining manner made her many friends who keenly regret of her untimely death and extend their sympathies to her heart broken relatives. In addition to her father and mother, she left four sisters and one brother as follows: Mrs Herbert Baldwin, Mrs John Kearns, Mrs Victor Morass, Mrs Alfred Lang and Fred C Gerlach. The deceased was 31 years of age. The funeral was held this afternoon at 3 o'clock
