US Congressman. Elected as a Democrat to represent Ohio's 4th District in the United States House of Representatives, he served from 1911 to 1915. He graduated from Pio Nono College, in St. Francis, Wisconsin, in 1888, and from the Cincinnati Law School in 1891. After he was admitted to the bar, he practiced law in St. Mary's, Ohio. He became chairman of the Democratic State Convention in 1903. He was elected to Congress in 1910, served two consecutive terms, and was not renominated to become a candidate in 1914. He returned to Ohio and resumed his law practice in Wapakoneta.
