KENNETH JAMES HOOPER August 27, 1948 - February 9. 2018 Resident of Paradise, California A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Capitola on February 22, for Ken Hooper who passed away peacefully at his home in Paradise, Ca. He was 69 years old. Born in Montgomery, Alabama to Christine B. Hooper and Colonel Harry B. Hooper, Jr, USMC, Ken traveled with his family to many locations during his father's military career. The family moved back to Harry's native Capitola, in 1962, where Ken and the family were close to grandparents and long-time residents, Esther and Harry Hooper Sr. Ken later moved to Paradise, Ca., where he resided for the past 35 years. He leaves countless friends at California Vocations Inc. in Paradise. Many fond memories will be cherished by Ken's family for his love of music. He loved playing his extensive collection of records with family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Christine Hooper of Santa Cruz, his two sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and David D'Anza of Santa Cruz, and Linda and Jim Piini of Salinas. He also leaves many nieces and nephews as well as grandnieces and grandnephews. The funeral mass was celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Thursday, February 22. He was laid to rest beside his father Harry Hooper at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Aptos following the mass. Any kind acts of charity can be made in Ken's memory to California Vocations Inc. (PO Box 538, Paradise, CA 95967, a non-profit organization).
