Actor. A prolific actor, his best known roles were in the teenage high school drama television show "Beverly Hills 90210," which ran from 1990 to 2000, and in the teenage television drama "Riverdale," which was based on the "Archie" comic books, and ran from 2017 to 2019. He moved to Los Angeles, California after high school to pursue acting. His television career began when he was 16, acting in soap operas such as ABC's "Loving" and "Another World" on NBC, and doing voice work for animated series such as "The Incredible Hulk" and "Biker Mice From Mars." In 1990, he became a household name for playing 'Dylan McKay' on the smash hit "Beverly Hills, 90210" on Fox, which became a phenomenon, catapulting Perry to full-blown teen idol status. Perry had two runs on '90210', one from 1990 to 1995 and another from 1998 to the show's end in 2000, during which time his character struggled with alcohol abuse and drug addiction. His appearance in the show "Riverdale" was portraying 'Fred Andrews,' father of main character 'Archie Andrews.' Age 52 when he passed away a week after suffering a stroke, he was buried in an eco-friendly mushroom burial suit designed to remove polluting toxins from the body while naturally breaking it down to reunite the body with the earth and the ongoing cycle of life.
