Margaret N. Abate, 96, of Mt. Arlington, passed away on Wednesday April 12, 2017, at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Clare's Hospital, Dover Campus.

Born in Guttenberg, NJ, Margaret resided in West New York, prior to moving to Mt. Arlington 5 years ago. She was a graduate of Memorial High School in West New York and worked for MetLife in New York City until retirement. Margaret was a member of the West New York, North Bergen and Union City Senior Citizens Clubs and especially enjoyed the trips they took.

Margaret was a longtime member of St. Joseph of the Palisades for many years and was currently a member of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Mt. Arlington.

She was predeceased by brothers, Thomas, Anthony and Patrick and sisters, Mary Eagen, Anna Zullo and Julia Abate.

Survivors include many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Margaret's Life Celebration will include visiting on Monday April 17 from 9:00-11:00 AM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be offered Monday at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Mt. Arlington. Margaret will be laid to rest at Fairview Mausoleum in Fairview, NJ.
