Ethel F. Brown, 87, who was a member of Washington Hebrew Congregation, the National Council of Jewish Women and the Woman's National Democratic Club died of a stroke April 6 at her Washington home.
She was a native of the city and a graduate of Eastern High School and the Washington School for Secretaries. She was a secretary with the FBI prior to World War II and at her husband's law firm in the 1950s and 1960s.
Her husband, Nathan M. Brown, died in January.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Mertins of Washington and Marilyn Blattel of Ottawa; a sister, Theresa Kaplan of Chevy Chase; and two granddaughters.
