Arja W. Griffiths, 703 Jefferson Ave., died Friday in Moses Taylor Hospital after an illness. His widow is the former Applina Kapuscinski. Born in Scranton, son of the late Samuel and Sephora Morgan Griffiths, he was the retired terminal manager for the Werner Continental Trucking Co., Scranton. Mr. Griffiths was treasurer of the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association; former business agent for Local 229, Drivers and Truckers Union, and has been associated with various other trucking firms, including Marianelli's, Friedman's Express and Palmers Transfer. He attended Worldwide Church of God, Mt. Pocono.

Also surviving are a son, Thomas C., Scranton, associated with Bell Telephone Co.; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Alice Mitnick and Mrs. Ann Lidsey, Scranton, and Mrs. Ella Davis, Norfolk, Va.

The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. from Davies and Jones Funeral Chapel, 135 S. Main Ave., with services by Mr. Ozzi Engelbart, pastor, Worldwide Church of God. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery. Viewing today 7 to 9 p.m.; Sunday 3 to 5, 7 to 9 p.m.
