SCOTT - Memorial services will be held Friday, August 13, 2021 at a 3:00 p.m. Liturgy of the Word in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Kathleen Louise Begnaud, age 79, who passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2021 at The Carpenter House in Lafayette.

Deacon David Menard of St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church will officiate at the services.

Mrs. Begnaud was born in Homestead, Florida and was a resident of Lafayette for most of her life. She retired as a hospital administrator with United Blood Services after over thirty years of employment. Kathleen was the matriarch of her family, those of whom she loved and nurtured, along with her two cats, Lucky and Buzz. Outside of tending to her loved ones, she enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include one daughter, Helen Begnaud of Cankton; one son, Richard L. Begnaud and his wife, Roxane, of Cankton; five grandchildren, Sarah K. Dartez, James Tyler Dartez, Brandon M. Begnaud, Richard "Beau" Begnaud and his wife, Ashley, and Cheyenne A. Credeur; seven great grandchildren, Braidon T. Begnaud, Christian Dartez, Tristan Tolbert, Lidi Dartez, Ari K. Dartez, Weston J. Dartez, and Richard Cole Begnaud; two brothers, David Bennett and his wife, Teri, of Houston, TX and Miles Bennett of Duson; and two sisters, Lynne B. Gross of Youngsville, and Ardra B. Morgan and her husband, Marty, of Euphoria.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, Richard C. Begnaud; her parents, Elvin Bennett and the former Edith Alice Logan; one daughter, Rachele B. Credeur; a precious infant granddaughter, Audree Leigh Begnaud; and one brother, Steven Bennett.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Friday.
