Cheryl Patricia (Powers) Fetzer, 74, passed away on August 26th, 2021.
Cheryl Powers was born on December 28, 1946, in Norwalk, Ohio to Robert (Mike) and Nondas Powers.
On August 10th, 1968, she married Ben W Fetzer, who proceeded her in death on April 29, 2010.
Cheryl was a 1964 graduate of Lima Central Catholic. She was heavily involved at St Rose Parish, including running the cafeteria and rectory. Cheryl was also responsible for leading multiple parish activities with her husband Ben. She participated in Allen County elections for many years as Lead Precinct Clerk. Many will remember Cheryl from her over 25 years at Rays Supermarket (Northland), where she was the smiling face behind the register and receiving clerk, until she retired in 2014.
Cheryl had an exuberance for music, concerts, sports, tv, and was an avid foodie. Above all, her life was devoted to her family and friends. "Our mom was an incredibly strong woman. Even until the last years of her life, even after she became ill, she never stopped thinking about others. She wanted the best for everyone; making others happy gave her the greatest joy".
Mrs. Fetzer is survived by her children Bethany Fetzer-Rice (John), Jill Fetzer, Joseph Fetzer (Julie); grandchildren Delaney, Liam, Benjamin, Grace; sisters Chris Powers, Melinda Blanchard (Steven); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a private memorial service. Her final resting place will be next to her husband Ben at Gethsemani Cemetery in Lima, Ohio.
