Author and Playwright. Her play version of Mary Shelly's "Frakenstein or The Modern prometheus" is notable for the naming of the creature Frankenstein after its creator. This 1927 play was the insperation for the 1931 classic film directed by James Whale. Other notable works by Ms. Webling include "Poems and Stories" (1896); "Blue Jay" (1905) a novel; "Edgar Chirrup" (1915) a novel; "Saints and their Stories" (1919) an illustrated children's book; and "The Amber Merchant" (1925).
