Sarah Ashton (1769-1820) was the daughter of Burdett (1747-1814) and Anne Washington Ashton (1752-77), of Westmoreland (now King George ) County, Va. She married in 1788, Judge Nicholas Fitzhugh (1764-1814), of the U.S. Circuit Court, Washington, D.C., 1803-14. Thirteen children were Henrietta Sarah; Augustine Washington; Lucy (Sarah) Battaile (1793-1853)(unm.); Edmund; Burdett (1796-1814)(unm.); Henry William (1797-post1866)(dsp.); Charles (c1799-1862)(unm.); Lawrence; Ann Elizabeth Jane (1802-67)(unm.); Mary Conway Mason (1804); Mary Conway Mason II; Sophia M. Bland (c1806-post1863) who married Thomas E. White (-1849); and Sarah Nicholas Fizhugh (c1808-d.yng).
Presumably Sarah Ashton Fitzhugh was buried in the same cemetery as her husband.
