A celebration of the life of Larry Wayne Stevens of Elk Grove will take place Sunday, Nov. 7. Mr. Stevens died Oct. 12, 2010 at the age of 63.
Known to family and friends as Big Boy, Mr. Stevens was born March 16, 1947, and had lived in Elk Grove for more than 50 years. He worked for Mitchell's Body Shop in Elk Grove for many years and then went into commercial fishing. He also drove racecars and enjoyed camping, cooking and hunting as well as fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Freida Stevens.
Mr. Stevens is survived by longtime companion Linda Fitzgerald; daughters Nicole Stevens (Mark) and Sarah Fitzgerald (Greg); grandchildren Zackary and Zoe; brothers Dan Stevens, Mark Stevens and wife Geri; nephew Eric Stevens and nieces Summer and Samantha Stevens, all of Elk Grove.
Friends and family are invited to the celebration of Mr. Stevens' life that begins at 1 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Elk Grove Elks Lodge, 9240 Survey Road.
