While in Beresford, Kevin worked at various jobs. He did general maintenance work for the Beresford school system during the summers of 1987 and 1988. In 1990, he worked for the US Census Bureau. And, Kevin made pizzas at the C-store.
In the early 1990's, he moved to Sioux Falls, SD and had a daughter. He worked for a number of dining establishments. These included Tomacelli's, Bagel Boy, and T. C.'s Referee. In 2006, Kevin lived and worked in Milford, IA for a brief time before returning to Sioux Falls. Most recently, Kevin worked at Uno Tomato in Sioux Falls.
Kevin was a member of a number Sioux Falls rock bands over a seventeen year period. His first band was the Flak Jakets. Others included White Hot and Blue, Headshot, the Chew Toys, the Velour Prunes, From Within, and Search for George. Most recently, Kevin was a member of Three Man.
Kevin was survived by his daughter and her mother, and by his father and brother. His mother, Myrna, preceded him in death on April 4, 1998.
On May 14, 2008, a monument for Kevin and his father was erected at Grace Hill Cemetery, Hawarden, IA. And, an urn containing some of Kevin's ashes was buried beneath it. Kevin wanted his ashes to be spread at Hanna in the Black Hills of South Dakota; and, most of the remainder of his ashes were spread there on June 28, 2008. The last of the remainder of the Kevin's ashes were spread at Hanna in July of 2008. A benefit was held on September 27, 2008.
