He was born on April 13th, 1938 to Gladys and Stein Lukas, the third of five children in Blue Hill, NE. He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Chandra Lukas, five children: Cynthia Betts, Michael Lukas, Kevin Lukas, Kenneth Lukas, and Dennis Lukas; three step-children: Anil Chetram, Anand Chetram, and Alex Chetram; eleven grandchildren: Ryan Lukas, Amy Lukas, Jenny Cook, Michael Lukas, Ashley Betts, Justin Betts, Anthony Chetram, Angelie Chetram, Ava Chetram, Asher Chetram, and Ahryan Chetram; and brother and sister-in-law: Chuck and Karen Lukas.
He served his country in the Army and worked for the railroad for 46 years. After retiring from the railroad and being the hard worker that he was, Larry returned to work as a driver for Prince of the Road for 10 years. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time outdoors. He had a great sense of humor and always made everyone around him smile.
The funeral service will be held at the Christ Lutheran Church located at 4325 Sumner Street, Lincoln NE 68506 on Tuesday, April 18th, 2023 at 11:00 am. Cremation to follow. Full military honors and interment of ashes will be done at Oak Creek Cemetery in Blue Hill, NE.
