Louise H. Putz, age 100, died at River Glen of St. Charles on Monday, Jul. 17, 2023. She was born on Jul. 7, 1923, in Chicago to Henry and Mabel Schefer. On Mar. 2, 1946, she married Frank A. Putz Jr. at St. Patrick's Church in St. Charles, Ill.

Louise attended St. Charles schools and was a member of St. Patrick and later, St. Peter Church. In her younger years, Louise worked as a waitress at The Pheasant Run in St. Charles and Karen's Swedish Tea Room in Geneva prior to retiring from the St. Charles National Bank as a Personal Banker. But Louise will be especially remembered for her impromptu organ "concerts" and singing, fabulous Sunday and birthday dinners, and a full cookie jar for the grandchildren! Louise prided herself on keeping a tidy yard and spent many hours making sure every last magnolia petal or stray stick was cleaned up.

Louise is survived by her children, Cheryl (Dale) Feltes of Tigard, Ore., Robert Putz of DeKalb, Ill., and Douglas (Janice) Putz of St. Charles; grandchildren. Carolyn (Michael) Shelak, Daniel (Sara) Putz, Lindsay (Joel) McNally, and Alex (Janelle) Putz; great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Gwyneth Shelak, Owen Putz, Mason, Cooper, and Ava McNally. Several nieces and nephews also survive Louise.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Frank A. Putz Jr.; her parents, Henry and Mabel Schefer; her brother, Jack Schefer; and sister, Dorothy McClinsey.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jul. 20, 2023, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 400 Cedar St., St. Charles, Ill. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, 1200 N. 5th Ave, St. Charles. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, Jul. 20, 2023, at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 W. State St., Geneva, Ill.
