Shirley Frisque, 78, of Rhinelander, passed away unexpectedly at home on October 16, 2023.
Shirley was born on March 23, 1945 in Rhinelander, daughter of Bernard and Agnes (Olson) Ritchie.
Shirley graduated from Rhinelander Union High School in 1963.
She married Arthur Frisque in 1964. They were married for over 59 years and had five wonderful children, Theresa (Roger) James, Todd (Gena Peter) Frisque, Tina Tessmann, Tiffany Frisque and Tanya (Marc) Tischendorf.
Family came first and was above all else to Shirley. She lived her life for her children and grandsons, a value she instilled in all those around her. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill while we are left with wonderful, loving memories of her. She was a very generous and giving person and wouldn't think twice about helping someone in need.
She enjoyed nature's wildlife and had a vast array of critters that frequented her backyard pond. She was an avid antique collector and acquired many beautiful pieces over the years.
Shirley retired from Rhinelander High School after 24 years of service and Drs. Foster & Smith after 28 years.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Elizabeth (Betty) Cornell, Paul Ritchie and Adam Ritchie; and great-nieces Leeann Ritchie, Tawny Schleinz and Jody Rosczynalia.
She was survived by her husband; her children; her grandsons, Brady and Reese Frisque and Zaine and Reid Tischendorf; and many nieces and nephews.
The visitation for Shirley took place on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 10 a.m. until noon with a service following, at Hildebrand Funeral Home & Cremation Specialists, 24 E. Davenport Street, Rhinelander, WI, 54501, 715-365-4343.
