Robert A. Woods, 53, of Springfield died at 9:39 a.m. Monday at his residence.
He was born Feb. 12, 1934, in Springfield, the son of George and Iva Ethel Dollar Woods. His father preceded him in death in 1977. A lifelong resident of Springfield, Mr. Woods had been employed by the Springfield Park District for 33 years.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Tina Pflug and Mrs. Sherry Williams, both of Springfield, and Miss Holly Sue Woods of Cahokia; three sons, Robert Charles Woods of Springfield, Rodney Allen and James Steven Woods, both of Cahokia; eight grandchildren; mother, Mrs. Iva Ethel Woods of Springfield; five sisters, Miss Nellie Josephine Woods, Mrs. Ethel Campbell and Mrs. Lula Olive Stone, all of Springfield, Mrs. James (Ellen Louise) Hollis of Decatur, Mrs. Robert (Mary Jane) Stover of Shelby, N.C.; two brothers, Bill Edward and George Arthur Woods, both of Springfield; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: Staab Funeral Home, Dr. Charles Hendricks officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery
