Freddie Lee Elliott was born April 26, 1939, near the community of Lott, in Falls County, Texas. He was the second of three sons of J.W. Elliott and Juanita Christine Elliott. The family later moved to Franklin where Freddie attended Junior High and High School. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1957, attended Sam Houston State University, and graduated with a degree in Agriculture Education in 1961. He began his teaching career in Vocational Agriculture in 1961 at Jesse H. Jones High School in Houston. In 1963 he moved to Calvert to teach Vocational Ag and worked with FFA students and members of the community to create a local Calvert livestock stock show which later evolved into the Robertson County Fair, which continues today.

In 1970, Fred began teaching Vocational Agriculture at Franklin High School where he remained until retirement in 1996. After retirement, Fred was the Ranch Manager of Drew Simmental Ranch. In 2002, he was elected Robertson County Judge and he proudly served the citizens of Robertson County for one term. Fred also served the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo as a Lifetime Committeeman and Livestock Show Judge, and he was active on the Commercial Steer Committee.

Throughout his career, Fred served as a director for the Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association of Texas, the Robertson County Fair, the Navasota Valley Electric Co-Op. and various organizations in the county and surrounding areas.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and brother, Jerry W. Elliott.

He is survived by – Wife, Judy B. Elliott, brother, Billy Ray Elliott wife, Judy Leath Elliott of Franklin, daughters and sons-in-law; Gwen Hartsfield (Randy), Kathy DeGeorge (Frank) of Houston: sons and daughters-in-law Kenneth Elliott (Sharon Mushinski Elliott), John Elliott (Kerry Colley Elliott) all of Franklin.

Grandchildren: Patrick (Ashley) Bond, Rand (Laura) Hartsfield, Jake (Jenna) Hartsfield, Scott Hartsfield,Kadi Conner, Marshall, Dylan, Drew, Kayla, Lane and Mason Elliott. Great Grandchildren, Briley Bond and Liam Hartsfield.

Uncle: Barney Allen (Nell), Mother-in-Law: Grace Baker of Waco, Sisters In-law: Nancy Baker Hodges of Dallas, Kay Baker Feagins (Eric) of League City: Brother-in-law John Baker (Karen)of Carrollton, Tex.

Numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial services are scheduled for 10:30 A.M. Friday, September 20, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Franklin. A Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5:30-7:30 P.M. at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin, Texas.
