Charles (Marky) Markajani of Rochester died on June 19 at Rochester General Hospital of complications from open heart surgery on June 10. He was 66.

A native of Rochester, Mr. Markajani attended Niagara University for two years before joining the Army during World War II. He was a member of the Webster post of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

During the past few years, Mr. Markajani devoted his time to the things he loved - golfing, bowling, fishing, and traveling to Florida, according to his close friend and companion Kathy Troyer. Mr. Markajani was named to Rochester's Bowling Hall of Fame for his 38 years as league secretary for Culver and Seneca Lanes.

"He loved children, especially his grandchildren," Troyer said.
