Member of Hook & Ladder Company #1 of the Omaha, NE. Fire Dept. Had been a member of the Dept. since 3-30-1892 and died in the line of duty when a wall collasped on him at the Farnam Street Theater Fire, 1422 Farnam Street.
Was mis-spelled "Gyreum" by most newspapers and documents after his death.
