He was united in marriage to Pearl Catherine Schara on Jan. 28, 1933, in Belvidere, Ill. Marv had been employed at the Baraboo Woolen Mill before going to work as a brakeman for the Chicago North Western Railroad. He retired as a conductor after 32 years with the railroad. Marv was a member of the Baraboo Coin Club.
He is survived by three children, Darleen Blaser of Baraboo, Linda (James B.) Kieffer of Madison, and Gary (special friend, Missy) Loomis of Scottsdale, Arizona; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Merton (Roberta) Loomis and Walter (Donna) Loomis, both of Savanna, Ill.; special friends and neighbors, Ralph Marquardt, Ron and Chris, Bill and Lil, and Claire; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Marv was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pearl; two infant daughters, Donna Jean and Candace; a son, Marvin Evan; an infant brother and sister; a brother, Rollyn; and two grandchildren, Jay Owen Blaser and Jacquelyn Jean Ostrander.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at the REDLIN FUNERAL HOME in Baraboo with Pastor William Haskins officiating. Interment will take place in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.
