Richard DaCunha Sr. of Hollywood, Fl passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He was born in Manhattan and grew up in the Jamaica section of Queens, NY. He attended St. Gerard's Magella Catholic School in Hollis, Queens. After graduating high school he served his country honorably by enlisting in the United States Marie Corp. from 1958-1964. After his discharge and marriage he moved to Levittown on Long Island and raised his family. He went on to have a career in law enforcement as a police officer and member of the New York Police Department's (NYPD) Motorcycle Division. After retiring and moving to Florida, he became a successful realtor and business owner.
His passions were riding his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle with his wonderful group of friends and working on projects in his beloved garage. He would have been thrilled to know that one day in the future he would have a great-granddaughter named Harlee!
Predeceased by his parents, Florence (nee Swilp) and Ney DaCunha and sister, Joyce (nee DaCunha) Ford (Brian).
He is survived by his wife Mary (nee Greenhalgh Walton) DaCunha. First wife, Madeline (nee DiComo) DaCunha of Dania Beach, FL; aunt, Marian (Mamie) Elizabeth Miller of St. Augustine, Fl; daughter, Michele (nee Walton) White (Salvator) of Hollywood, Fl; son, Richard DaCunha Jr. of Seattle, Wa; sister, Jean (nee DaCunha) Pecoraro (Filippo) of Lake Wales, Fl; brother, Conrad Miller (Joan) of Charlotte, NC; brother, Alfred Miller (Diane) of Palm Coast, FL. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Charles Greenhalgh and Linda Schwartz his partner, of Pembroke Pines, Fl. Devoted grandfather to Angela Schmitt, Benjamin Schmitt, Salvator White Jr., Anthony White, Nicholas White, Joseph White and great-grandfather to Robby Schmitt, Remy Zaki and Gabriel Richard Rodriguez all of Hollywood, FL. He leaves many beloved nieces and nephews, John Ford (Renée) of Pembroke Pines, Fl; Brian Ford Jr. (Judith) of Tampa, Fl; Carlo Pecoraro (Natalie) of Medford, NY; Philip Pecoraro (Carrie) of Manorville, NY; Michael Pecoraro (Kimberly) of Centereach, NY; Gina Pecoraro of Rocky Point, NY; Michael Miller of Orlando, FL; Darlene Miller of Greenville, SC; Kurt Miller of New Port Richie, FL; Alfred Miller Jr. of Brunswick, NJ; June-Ann Miller of Orange, NJ.
