DALLAS- "Aggie" Agnes Genevieve Robertson, 97, a resident of Dallas died Sunday, April 12, 2009. .

During World War II, she started her career as a nurse serving in the Army. She was discharged with the rank of Corporal in the WAC 4135th Army Air Forces. She continued nursing and was an LPN working in hospitals for many years. Aggie married Donald Wayne Robertson, 20 October 1956 in Stevenson, Washington and he preceded her in death in 1984. She loved to dance, garden, play pinochle, bingo, crochet and knit. Aggie enjoyed her adopted "kitty pets". She was very artistic and owned the Northwest Ceramic Supply in Portland at one time. She was a very active member of the Dallas Senior Center where she volunteered many hours of her time. One of Aggie's favorite saying is "If you want a friend, be a friend". She had many friends in Dallas and a the Bethel Community Church were she was a member.

She is survived by her niece, Joanne and her husband Don Eickhoff of Lafayette, Oregon; step-daughter, Anna Leischner; and step-son, Jerry Robertson both of Portland; along with two other nieces and two nephews and her friends at church and at the senior center.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Walter, Edith, Emma, Thomas, Frankie, Bill, George, Adrian, Morris and a baby sister.

A memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 18 in the Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Private interment will be in the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society in care of the mortuary at 297 SW Washington St. Dallas, Oregon 97338.

The odd thing is that Jonas's brothers were also in prison at the same time, David Olen Kreier and Paul Kreier, same spelling their father has, however after being released from prison the spelling in the 1940 census is Krier.

Agnes married Allie Jack Gallant June 1, 1942 in Los Angeles, California, they divorced December 12, 1945. It was the second marriage for both. Jack was the son of J. T. Gallant and M. E. Hacker, all born in Texas, per information given by Allie on marriage and military records.


Agnes G. Gallant married Roy Chester Ford twice. The first was in Yuma, Yuma Co., Arizona , December 22, 1946. The second time she married Roy Chester Ford was in the Methodist Church in Reno, Nevada, January 26, 1953, Divorced (final decree ) April 17, 1953.
