For a number of years Mr. Courier resided in this city, and for a time was manager of the S. E. Bond Co.'s stores. Later he moved to Fernandina and then to Port Tampa at which place he was employed in the railway shops.
The remains were brought to Palatka Thursday morning and the funeral was held from St. James M. E. Church, South, at 2:30 Thursday afternoon, Rev. J. F. Bell conducting the services. Interment was in West View Cemetery.
The pallbearers were J. N. Blackwell, E. W. Wattles, A. L. Leach, D. W. Ramsaur, city, and W. P. Carnes and D. A. Burton, of Tampa.
Mr. Courier was a son-in-law of E. Windisch of this city. He is survived by his wife, and three children, Mary, John and Joseph Courier, Jr., besides other relatives to all of whom sympathy is extended.
