HANOVER--Margaret Catherine Koppes, 88, Hanover, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000,
at a Marysville hospital.

She was born Aug.30, 1911, at Hanover, the daughter of Phillip Doebele and Nora
Meier. She attended Hanover High School.

Mrs. Koppes was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Altar Society at the
church and the Extension Homemakers Unit.

She married John A. Koppes on Jan. 9, 1934. He died Sept. 12, 1990. Mrs.
Koppes also was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Koppes, in 1973, and a
grandson, Douglas White in 1996.

Survivors include a son, John, Clay Center; three daughters: Mary C. White,
Hanover, Sharon Smith, Englewood, Colo. and Janice Fedewa, Lansing, Mich.; three
brothers, Urban Doebele, Steve Doebele and Frank Doebele, all of Hanover; a
sister, Josephine Bray, Malvern, Ark.; 17 grandchildren and 21
great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a. m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church in Hanover.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
