Napoleon B. Bunker was the oldest child born to William Oliver and Judy Ross Laffoon Bunker. He was given the middle name of Bonepart but he didn't like it so he refused to use it.

He married Myrtle Christine Creed Jan. 4, 1918.

He enlisted in the Army at an early age and prior to World War I, he served at Army posts in the Philippine Islands and in the Panama Canal Zone. Upon his discharge he entered government construction work in the Canal Zone where he and his wife raised their family. The children were:

1. James William Bunker b. 12-10-1918
2. Jesse "Jack" Yates Bunker b. 11-12-1920
3. June Ross Bunker b. 03-13-1922
4. Chester Lewis Bunker b. 06-05-1924
5. Frank Edwin Bunker b. 03-04-1926
6. Mary Elizabeth Bunker b. 08-08-1928
7. Ruth Ann Bunker b. 11-17-1933
