Census records of Skwato's son Matthew say Skwato was born in Kentucky. She lived in an Indian encampment near Patoka (later Gibson Co.) Indiana. Skwato went to work for William and Nancy Rainey. Nancy had TB and Skwato took care of her until she died. Skwato married William Rainey in 1814. William and Skwato had one son, Matthew. Skwato died in 1833 and was buried in an unmarked grave just outside the fence line at the cemetery. Some say she was buried on family-owned land in Oaksville.
