AVIS ALINE ASKEW, 66, Delphos, died at 4:20 a.m. Dec. 7, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare Center, Lima.
She was born Jan. 3, 1936, in Brinkley, Ark., to Claude and Irene Clark Askew, who preceded her in death. In 1951, she married Calvin Atterberry, who preceded her in death. In 1970, she married Myrl Akerman Sr., who also
preceded her in death.
Ms . Askew was a homemaker. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, cooking, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis (Laura) Atterberry of Delphos, Mark Atterberry of Los Angeles and Myrl Akerman of Seattle; two daughters, Quincy (Robert) Kiracofe and Marcia Ardner, both of Delphos; a sister, Billie Jean (Cecil) Bryant of Covington, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Claude Askew Jr.; and three sisters, Nell Reid, Faye Pitts and Frankie Walker.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos. The Rev. David Howell will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
