He was a son to Henry M. and Mary (Hoelderle) Kaverman. On Feb 16, 1949, he married Rose M. Schmelzer, who survives.

Jr., Hartford, WI; eight daughters, Karen (Dick Fowler) Kaverman, Oreno, MN, Virginia Kaverman, Delphos, Laura (Steve) Blackburn, Leavittsburg, Sue (Robert) Mallett, Wapakoneta, Rose M. Kaverman, Bradford, Linda (Daniel) Woods, Sugar Grove, IL, Nora (Carl) Schulte, Kalida, and Brenda (Tom) Hale, Dayton; and nineteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, William, Henry and Richard; and two sisters, Lucille and Helen Unterbrink; and a grandson, Thomas G. Hale IV.
He worked for Douglas Aircraft and the Army Corps of Engineers during World War II, serving two years in Eritrea. He was a Navy veteran serving two years in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. He was a member of American Legion Post 268, where he had served as commander, and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3035 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 471, all Delphos. He had worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation, Cincinnati, the Lake Erie Transportation and as a bus driver for Greyhound. He retired July 1, 1977, as a store manager from the Ohio Department of Liquor Control.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos, with Fr. Melvin Verhoff officiating.
