She was born in England and was the Baroness Clifton. She married Edward Hyde in 1688. He was Lord Cornbury - and governor of New York and New Jersey from 1701 to 1708. At her marriage she became Lady Cornbury. She died in the New World probably at Manhattan, New York and is buried under the tower at Trinity Church. Also buried there under the tower is Ann (Hyde) Clarke who died in 1740, the wife of New York Governor George Hyde and Ann (Hyde) Clarke's mother. Lord Cornbury is buried at Westminster Abbey.
