TOWN OF TROY — The victim of a Sunday farm accident has been identified as Matthew D. Anderson, 21, of Mazomanie. Anderson and his brother, Bradley Anderson of Baraboo, were placing an end loader onto a trailer when the end loader rolled over, ejecting Matthew Anderson and crushing him beneath it.

Anderson was a 2004 graduate of Sauk-Prairie High School and a student at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where he was on the chancellor's list and active in the FFA, according to his obituary.

SAUK PRAIRIE/MAZOMANIE — Matthew Douglas Anderson, age 21, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007 following a farm accident.

He was born in Madison on Dec. 21, 1985, the son of Douglas and Kim (Greenheck) Anderson. Matt graduated from Sauk Prairie High School in 2004 and was currently a student at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. While attending Sauk Prairie High School he served as president of FFA for two years, was a 12-season athlete and a member of the National Honor Society and was currently on the Chancellor's List at UW-Platteville. Matt was an avid agriculturist, affectionately known as the son of FFA, and will be sadly missed by all whose lives he touched. He was a State FFA Sentinel for 2005-2006 and State FFA president for 2006-2007. He was the 2005 State Star Agri-Business Entrepreneurship Winner and the National Agriculture Sales and Service Entrepreneurship Proficiency Winner. He was chairman of the National FFA. Officer Nominating Committee in 2006 and a 2007 FFA American Degree Recipient. Matt was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Black Hawk and Happy Hustlers 4-H.

He is survived by his parents, Kim (Les Prchal) Anderson of Mazomanie and Doug (Lisa Kueter) Anderson of Waunakee; brother, Bradley Anderson of Baraboo; sister, Lindsay (Matt Henderson) Anderson of Mazomanie; fiancée, Sheri Nelson and family of East Troy; grandparents, John and Carol Anderson of Spring Green and Curt (Ginny) Greenheck of Mazomanie; great-grandmothers, Fern Greenheck and Lorraine Horne, both of Sauk City; Les's family, Todd (Melissa), Trina, Lana, Tanya and Kristina; aunts; uncles; cousins; and many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Joyce Greenheck.

A funeral service will be held at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, S10173 CTH C, Sauk City, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, with Pastor Kendall Schlittler officiating. Burial will be in Harrisburg Cemetery. Friends may call at the River Arts Center at Sauk Prairie High School, 105 Ninth St., Prairie du Sac, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred for a scholarship fund to be established in memory of Matt.
